Benefits of Martial Arts for Children
Gain confidence and develop character
By following the traditional rules of Kung Fu, students learn how to respect the dojo, their instructors, and each other. Some life lessons they learn include; taking turns, giving their best effort, making eye contact, patience when learning something new, and that practice brings success. The Martial Arts help empower children to stand up for themselves. They learn how to be calm and practice peace while at the same time they learn how to defend themselves should they ever find themselves in a dangerous situation.
Healthy mind and body
By regularly attending classes, children begin to learn the many physical, mental, and emotional health benefits of weekly exercise. We teach our Little Dragons proper exercise techniques to keep their bodies strong and healthy. And through memorizing and performing various katas, children become physically, mentally, and emotionally stronger in the dojo which will help them in everyday life. There is no doubt that the physical and mental workouts of the Martial Arts help children become better prepared to manage stress and anxiety, manage their body weight, and helps them feel good about themselves.
Off the couch and engaged with others
In recent years it has become increasingly more important for our children to connect with real people, find community, and spend a little less time in virtual reality. Our Little Dragons classes are a great way to help support the health and wellbeing of our little ones. We will provide a fun and safe environment for your child in which they will get to interact with other children as they strengthen their mind and body. Let’s help them unplug from their tablets and engage with others.
